Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we could not meet, but this year we were happy with the opportunity to visit oil and gas exhibition and forum in Baku. We presented a separate stand at the exhibition, we had many meetings in the capital of Azerbaijan - with SOCAR and other companies, and we think that the negotiations will be rewarding. We had the opportunity to hold fruitful discussions with the colleagues from Azerbaijan, Turkiye, Bulgaria, Serbia, the United States and the European Union.

This event is much different: it is on a world class level, it is Azerbaijan now that is being courted, it is all the investors now coming saying “hey, we would like to work with you; yes, you are trustworthy, you have delivered”. This Forum is of interest to me personally as it brings a diversity of regional voice into the global energy conversation. That’s our 100th energy congress, while this is the 29th Baku Energy Forum. So, I think, there is a great set of participants.It’s a dialogue forum where we exchange perspectives and hopefully identify some new opportunities that we weren’t seeing before and that catalyzes the collaboration that didn’t exist before, and creates a new solution that leads to a set of decisions about how we move it forward.
